Alex has worked in philanthropy across the cultural sector, including within heritage, the visual arts, literature and theatre. She joined the Gate as Head of Development in April 2017, after roles at institutions including Tate, the Landmark Trust and The London Library. 
 
Alex is also a Trustee of the Ian Karten Charitable Trust, which provides assistive technologies and educational access for people with learning or physical disabilities, and is a Director of Young Arts Fundraisers, a professional network that provides a much-needed forum for thought leadership and professional development for early-career cultural sector fundraisers. In her spare time, she is also an official Tour Guide for the Victoria and Albert Museum.
